We’ve been having a great time on our local hatchery supported streams but last Friday we took our tenkara rods for a hike. After a short trek into the Pisgah National Forest we dropped into wild trout water and spent the day on dry flies catching some locally born and bred Rainbows and Browns. Best among them was this beauty who couldn’t resist the tempting drag-free drift of tenkara. After the indignity of a quick photo, he was safely returned to his natal stream…wild and wonderful.
