Yesterday we stepped out of the house to the overwhelming smell of a wood fire…to be more precise, a wildfire.  While not anywhere near us here Asheville, the numerous wildfires around WNC have covered the entire region with smoke.  The acreage consumed is now in the tens of thousands and most of the fires are not more than 20% contained.  Keep a thought for those who are being evacuated and for the dedicated crews who are battling the dry conditions to save life and property.
